Karl C. Asks "I get several customers that tell me they are coming in but never show up. How can I fix this?"
Karl, With the limited information you have provided I will try to provide you some solutions to your problem. Are you contacting the customer by email AND phone to confirm the appointment? Develop a simple appointment confirmation template that not only reminds them they have an appointment but also request that they reply to let you know they have confirmed it as well.
I have found that if the appointment is scheduled more than three days out the customer is less inclined to show when they said they would. Keep this in mind if you are scheduling farther than 3 days out. IF this is the case, schedule additional reminder phone calls to insure the appointment. Send an extra email as well.
